Senior Key Account Manager Institutional Sales

Role Objective The Senior KAM will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing strategic relationships with Government departments, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), and large institutions in the Hyderabad region. The primary focus is the mobilization of high-value Fixed Deposits (Bulk Deposits) to strengthen the bank’s liability portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development & Deposit Mobilization
- Target and acquire high-value FD mandates from State/Central Government departments, Municipal Corporations, and Statutory Bodies.
- Liaise with "Big Institutions" (Trusts, Universities, Hospitals, and Large Corporates) to pitch the bank’s deposit products.
- Drive the end-to-end sales cycle: from identifying upcoming tenders/surplus funds to the final placement of the FD.
2. Relationship Management & Operational Synergy
- Act as the primary point of contact for institutional clients, ensuring high levels of service and timely issuance of deposit certificates.
- Coordination Support: To ensure seamless execution, the candidate will be provided with dedicated coordination support from the branch nearest to the client case. This ensures localized oversight, faster documentation turnaround, and efficient service delivery for the institution.
- Manage the renewal of maturing deposits through proactive engagement and competitive pricing negotiations.
3. Tendering & Compliance
- Monitor and participate in Government Tenders and RFPs (Request for Proposals) for the placement of funds.
- Coordinate with the internal Treasury and Product teams to obtain competitive interest rate quotes for bulk deals.
- Ensure all documentations (KYC, Board Resolutions, etc.) are compliant with both RBI guidelines and the institution’s internal mandates.
4. Market Intelligence
- Stay updated on Telangana State Government notifications regarding the empanelment of banks for fund placement.
- Map the decision-makers (CFOs, Finance Secretaries, Treasurers) within the Hyderabad institutional ecosystem.
Operational Structure
- Branch Coordination Support: To maximize time on the field and minimize administrative delays, the Senior KAM will be mapped to the nearest branch office for every case. Branch staff will act as the operational backbone, assisting with local documentation, physical verification, and deposit processing, allowing the KAM to focus purely on business development and relationship management.
Required Candidate Profile
- Experience: 7–8 years in Institutional Sales or Corporate Banking, with a proven track record of handling "Liability" products.
- Local Expertise: Strong existing network within the Telangana Government departments and Hyderabad-based large institutions.
- Skills: * Exceptional negotiation and presentation skills.
- Deep understanding of the "Bulk Deposit" market and interest rate dynamics.
- Ability to navigate bureaucratic processes and government hierarchy.
- Language: Fluency in English and Hindi; proficiency in Telugu is highly preferred for local government liaisoning.
