You will be joining a fast-growing fintech company as a Legal Associate to support the legal and compliance function. Your role will involve tasks such as contract drafting, regulatory research, transaction documentation, and providing day-to-day legal advisory to internal teams. It is essential to be comfortable working in a fast-paced, regulated fintech environment and collaborating with business, product, and compliance teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support negotiations with clients and vendors by preparing contract markups and risk summaries.
- Maintain a repository of commercial contracts and templates.
- Ensure contractual terms align with business requirements and risk management guidelines.
- Assist in due diligence processes for investments, strategic partnerships, or acquisitions.
- Coordinate with external law firms and internal stakeholders during transactions.
- Conduct research and provide summaries on RBI guidelines, payment regulations, lending norms, and fintech compliance.
- Assist in ensuring company processes align with regulatory requirements.
- Support preparation of legal opinions, regulatory responses, and compliance documentation.
- Provide legal support to product, operations, and business teams on contractual and compliance-related matters.
- Identify potential legal risks and suggest practical mitigation strategies.
- Assist in reviewing new product launches from a regulatory perspective.
- Maintain organized records of contracts, legal notices, and regulatory communications.
- Assist in policy drafting and internal compliance frameworks.
Qualifications Required:
- LL.B from a recognized university.
- 24 years post-qualification experience.
- Prior experience in fintech, NBFC, payments, or financial services sector.
- Strong skills in contract drafting and legal research.
- Basic understanding of RBI regulations, payments, lending, or fintech compliance.
- Ability to work closely with business and product teams in a start-up environment.
- Experience working with venture-backed start-ups.
- Familiarity with data protection and technology contracts.
