KIDSUNITED Reston is looking for a responsible, friendly, and organized Front Desk Manager to support daily operations, customer service, family communication, event coordination, and front desk management.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with families and children, can stay calm in a busy environment, and is comfortable taking ownership of the front desk experience. The Front Desk Manager will be one of the first points of contact for parents, customers, vendors, staff, and guests, so professionalism and strong communication are very important.
This position also requires 10% to 20% local commuting/travel for partnership building, franchise-related coordination, community events, off-site activities, and business development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities Front Desk & Customer Service
- Greet parents, children, customers, vendors, and visitors in a warm and professional manner.
- Manage front desk operations, including check-ins, inquiries, phone calls, emails, and customer communication.
- Provide accurate information about programs, memberships, summer camps, birthday parties, events, and other services.
- Help resolve customer questions, concerns, and complaints professionally.
- Maintain a positive and welcoming experience for all families and guests.
- Keep the front desk area clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
Daily Operations
- Support daily center operations and help ensure smooth communication between staff, management, parents, and customers.
- Assist with scheduling, registration, payments, customer follow-ups, and administrative tasks.
- Help manage supplies, inventory, forms, waivers, customer records, and front desk materials.
- Support staff coordination and help communicate updates clearly to the team.
- Make sure the facility looks clean, organized, and ready for families and events.
Events, Camps & Activities
- Support and help coordinate birthday parties, summer camps, special events, weekend activities, and additional programs.
- Be available to help cover events, camps, parties, or other activities when needed.
- Assist with setup, guest communication, customer support, and cleanup during events.
- Help ensure families and children have a safe, organized, and positive experience.
Partnerships & Community Outreach
- Travel locally as needed, approximately 10% to 20% of the time, for business-related activities.
- Build and maintain partnerships with local businesses, schools, organizations, franchisees, and community contacts.
- Support outreach efforts to increase brand awareness and customer engagement.
- Represent KIDSUNITED professionally during off-site events, meetings, and partnership opportunities.
Qualifications
- Previous front desk, customer service, administrative, hospitality, childcare, event coordination, or management experience preferred.
- Strong communication and people skills.
- Comfortable working with children, parents, and families.
- Organized, reliable, and able to multitask in a busy environment.
- Friendly, professional, and customer-focused attitude.
- Able to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
- Comfortable commuting locally for events, partnerships, and business needs.
- Must be dependable and punctual.
- Must be comfortable keeping the front desk and customer-facing areas clean and organized.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in a kids’ activity center, childcare center, school, gym, recreation center, hospitality, or family entertainment business.
- Experience with event coordination, birthday parties, summer camps, or customer-facing operations.
- Basic computer skills and comfort using scheduling, payment, or customer management systems.
Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
