We have an immediate opening for a Field Biologist (1 to 2 years of experience) to join our Biological Services department.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to expand upon their education and prior work history, gaining new skills and experience working alongside qualified environmental professionals on a diverse portfolio of projects for a wide client base in British Columbia.
The successful applicant will have:
- A positive attitude and the ability to be flexible as part of a team of multidisciplinary biologists.
- Strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to take detailed notes.
- Eligibility for registration with the College of Applied Biologists as an in-training registrant (i.e., Biologist in Training, Registered Biology Technologist in Training, Applied Biology Technician in Training, or equivalent)
- Experience and education in one or more of the following:
- Environmental monitoring
- Water quality sampling
- Fish, wildlife, or plant identification
- Residential, commercial, or industrial construction
- Commercial landscaping or tree planting
- Experience working with contractors and / or regulatory agencies is beneficial.
- Understanding and/or experience working with the Fisheries Act, Water Sustainability Act, Riparian Areas Protection Regulation, and local government bylaws is beneficial.
