Job Description

U.S. citizens or permanent residents only. No sponsorship available.

This role is for someone who doesn’t just “work with Linux” — you own it.

I’m working with a strong telecom-focused organization seeking a Linux Infrastructure Engineer with real-world VoIP platform experience and solid SIP expertise. If you’ve supported voice infrastructure in production and know how to trace a problem from the CLI all the way down to packet level — this is your lane.

We need someone technical. Confident. Battle-tested.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting and troubleshooting Linux-based VoIP platforms in live environments
  • Diagnosing SIP signaling and call flow issues
  • Performing deep log analysis from the Linux command line
  • Reviewing and analyzing packet captures (Wireshark)
  • Applying patches, updates, and infrastructure fixes
  • Writing MOPs for production changes
  • Participating in upgrades, maintenance windows, and system improvements
  • Partnering with engineering teams to escalate and resolve complex issues

What You Must Have:

  • 5+ years of Linux systems experience (Red Hat or similar)
  • Recent, hands-on VoIP experience in production
  • Strong SIP troubleshooting knowledge
  • Solid networking fundamentals
  • Comfort working directly in Linux CLI
  • Ability to analyze packet captures and system logs
  • Strong communication skills — you can explain what’s happening and why

Nice to Have

  • Linux scripting
  • VMware experience
  • Basic Cisco IOS knowledge
  • Exposure to telecom infrastructure environments

Why This Is a Strong Move:

You’ll be working on real voice platforms — not theoretical lab systems. This is a hands-on infrastructure role where Linux and VoIP expertise truly matter. The environment values technical depth and people who can think independently, not just follow playbooks.

If you’re a Linux infrastructure professional with serious VoIP and SIP experience and you’re ready for your next move in the Carteret area, let’s connect.

Work Authorization:

Applicants must have valid, independent authorization to work in the United States. This position does not offer, support, or accept any form of sponsorship—whether employer, third-party, future, contingent, transfer, or otherwise. Candidates must be able to work for any employer in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship of any kind. Work authorization will be verified, and misrepresentation will result in immediate removal from consideration.
