Join the Impact Finance (IF) team as an Associate to support capital deployment to partners focused on fostering healthy, resilient communities, and a strong economy. IF invests the firm's principal capital to advance JPMorganChase's impact objectives with a focus on four key issue areas: Careers & Skills, Financial Health & Wealth Creation, Housing Access & Affordability, and Business Growth & Entrepreneurship. IF operates as a multi-asset impact investing and lending platform and its products include investments as a Limited Partner in funds, such as affordable housing funds and Small Business Investment Companies (SBICs), and low-cost loans to mission-driven financial intermediaries, such as Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs).
As an Associate of Fund Investing on the Impact Finance team, you will play a key role in advancing the firm's principal impact investing strategy. In this position, you will help originate, structure and execute new investments in private equity and private credit funds that support meaningful social outcomes. You will work closely with senior stakeholders across the firm, contributing to the growth and direction of our impact platform.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the sourcing, evaluation, and management of a diversified portfolio of mission-driven fund investments and other Impact Finance products
- Serve as a point of contact for prospective and existing fund managers
- Conduct due diligence for new funds, including investment and operational diligence
- Prepare and present investment materials to the Impact Finance Equity Investment Committee, influencing key allocation decisions
- Support negotiations with counterparties on investment terms and legal agreements
- Support ongoing portfolio management, including conducting performance analysis, benchmarking, and valuation reviews
- Collaborate with colleagues across Corporate Responsibility and Lines of Business to help set and align strategic and impact objectives
- Conduct impact assessments for each investment opportunity, partnering with colleagues in Global Philanthropy
Required Qualifications, Skills, And Capabilities
- 3+ years of transaction experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, private credit, real estate, community development banking, or corporate finance
- Bachelors Degree in Finance, Economics, or other related field
- Demonstrated passion for affordable housing, small business growth, development finance, and/or impact investing
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to leverage Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint) and novel technologies to produce deliverables
- Strong judgment, initiative, and prioritization skills; adept at managing multiple workstreams and deadlines to drive results
Preferred Qualifications, Skills, And Capabilities
- Experience in a fund-of-funds investment role, an equity fund diligence role, or real estate evaluation role
- Familiarity with financial modeling, including performance metrics such as IRR and MOIC; experience with fund cash flow modeling and metrics
