Job Summary: To ensure outgoing products meet all required specifications prior to shipping.
Primary Responsibilities
- Receive both batching and finished good samples as per quality system.
- Conduct testing on every batch sample.
- Check batch process parameters are being met.
- Conduct testing on finished good samples per product specifications.
- Prepare and standardize reagents for chemical analysis.
- Calibration of equipment at start of shift
- Complete laboratory inventory on monthly basis
- Complete air monitoring testing on monthly basis
- Purchase essential laboratory supplies as needed.
- Report on non-conformances to appropriate managers and supervisors
- Complete Non-Conformance Reports as needed.
- Maintain proper filing system for quality data results.
- Maintain good housekeeping and safety procedures.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned by the QA Manager
Safety Responsibilities:
- Comply with all safety company policies as well as provincial and local regulations, with the support and guidance of SHE authorities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of HPLC and other lab instruments preferred
- WHMIS training
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to distinguish between colours.
- Strong sense of smell
- Ability to work in both group and individual settings, as required.
- Knowledge and proficiency of computer software
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong Mathematical aptitude
- Must be available to move to a continental shift, when required
Education/Experience:
- B.Sc. Degree, or Chemical Diploma with a minimum of 2-3 years related experience
Physical Demands:
- Night Shift: 10pm -6am
- Although this position is currently an eight (8) hour shift, must be available to work up to 12 hours to cover during vacations/illness/production needs
- Prolonged periods of sitting and / or standing
- Bending; Lifting (up to 25 lbs.); Pushing; Pulling; Crouching, Reaching, Repetitive Motions
