Senior Laravel Backend Developer (Contract/Freelance) — Mutual Fund API Integration (Fintech)

We run an AWS-hosted Laravel fintech platform and are implementing a mutual fund investment transaction workflow using third-party APIs. We need a senior Laravel engineer who can build reliable integrations with strong production readiness (observability, retries, idempotency, reconciliation).

Note: Specific API provider details will be shared with shortlisted candidates under NDA.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement integration with a third-party Mutual Fund transaction API for MVP purchase flow
• Integrate KYC status check (via external KYC/RTA source)
• Integrate bank account verification (penny-drop style) via external API
• Implement investor/client profile mapping and folio capture/mapping
• Build order lifecycle management:
• asynchronous status updates (polling and/or provider reports)
• retries, idempotency, failure handling
• audit trail of API calls and business events
• Set up Laravel queues/workers and scheduler if not already present
• Provide basic admin/ops interface for order tracking + reconciliation
• Deliver documentation:
• API mapping notes
• runbook (how to operate, troubleshoot, retry)
• Postman/Bruno collection (where applicable)

Required Skills

• 5+ years of PHP with strong hands-on Laravel experience
• Proven experience integrating third-party APIs in production systems
• Strong understanding of:
• idempotency, retries/backoff, rate limits
• background jobs/queues and async workflows
• logging, monitoring, debugging production issues
• MySQL data modeling and performance basics
• Git-based workflow (PRs, code review readiness)

Nice-to-Have (Strong Advantage)

• Experience with fintech transactions / order lifecycle systems
• Experience with mutual fund platforms, RTAs, payment flows, KYC workflows
• Redis + Horizon/Supervisor
• AWS deployment familiarity (EC2/Beanstalk/ECS), CI/CD

Working Style / Expectations

• Outcome-driven delivery with milestones and acceptance criteria
• Clear daily progress updates (short)
• AI-assisted development is welcome for speed, but you must:
• document assumptions,
• write maintainable code,
• and support/debug in real environments.

What Success Looks Like (MVP)

• A user can pass KYC status check, complete onboarding, place a mutual fund purchase order, and the system tracks order status to completion
• Folio is captured and correctly mapped
• Admin can view orders, failures, and export reconciliation CSV
• Queue/scheduler and logs are in place for operational reliability

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: ₹1,000.00 - ₹2,000.00 per hour
