Job Description
Overview
Instacart is seeking a Social Media Manager who will own the everyday heartbeat of Instacart’s social presence.
Why this role matters
Social is one of Instacart’s most powerful tools for building brand love, and this role sits at the heart of it. Instacart isn’t just a delivery app — it’s a brand with a story to tell about the way people shop, cook, and connect around food. You’ll help shape how we show up in culture, deepen community connection, and bring our brand voice and visual storytelling to life in ways that go beyond the transaction. This isn’t just a social media role — it’s a chance to define what a beloved, culturally relevant household brand looks and sounds like.
About the Role
We’re looking for a sharp, culturally fluent Social Media Manager who can own the everyday heartbeat of Instacart’s social presence. You’re the strategic executor and creative engine behind our always‑on content — writing briefs, leading platform operations, and ensuring Instacart shows up consistently, creatively, and relevantly between major campaigns. You know what stops a scroll before it trends on your FYP, you’re as comfortable ideating content around the next food trend as you are in a spreadsheet, and you thrive in a fast‑moving environment where no two days are the same.
About the Team
You will be a key member of the Brand Marketing team at Instacart, reporting to the Head of Social. The Brand Marketing team is responsible for defining and building a beloved brand that fuels growth and builds long‑term equity with consumers.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
- 3+ years of experience as a Social Media Manager, with 5+ years in social media and marketing roles overall
- Proven track record managing always‑on content across TikTok, Instagram, Threads, X, Pinterest, and YouTube Shorts
- Experience owning content calendars and publishing workflows end‑to‑end
- Pop culture obsessed. You know what’s trending, what’s dying, and what’s about to blow up before it hits everyone else’s FYP
- Strong analytical mindset with hands‑on experience in social analytics platforms (e.g., Sprinklr, Dash Hudson)
- Experience building and presenting monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports in both spreadsheet and deck formats
- Strong cross‑functional collaborator with proven experience working closely with Creator, CX, Brand, PR, and Paid teams to align social with broader campaign and community goals
- Demonstrated ability to write creative briefs and provide feedback to freelance or contract content creators
- Meticulous attention to detail — from copy accuracy to publish timing, nothing slips through the cracks
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities while staying organized, proactive, and solutions‑oriented
- Strong creative judgment with the ability to give thoughtful, actionable feedback on content and storytelling
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in creating and editing lofi Tiktoks and familiar with editing tools such as CapCut
- Understanding of SEO best practices as applied to social and digital content
- Experience collaborating with content creators and influencers across tiers (micro to mega) to develop social‑first concepts that support trends, launches, brand moments, and cultural relevance
- Understanding of the influencer ecosystem, social/PR gifting campaigns, and creator‑driven amplification strategies
