Description Building the space between proven and possible, MDA Space (TSX:MDA) is a trusted mission partner to the global space industry. A robotics, satellite systems and geointelligence pioneer with a 55-year+ story of world firsts and more than 450 missions, MDA Space is a global leader in communications satellites, Earth and space observation, and space exploration and infrastructure. The MDA Space team of more than 4,000 space experts in Canada, the US and the UK has the knowledge and know-how to turn an audacious customer vision into an achievable mission – bringing to bear a one-of-a-kind mix of experience, engineering excellence and wide-eyed wonder that's been in our DNA since day one. For those who dream big and push boundaries on the ground and in the stars to change the world for the better, we'll take you there. The Opportunity We are looking for an out‑of‑this‑world Internal Communications Manager to elevate the voice of MDA Space from within. In this role, you will partner strategically with Human Resources (HR) as your primary stakeholder, while also providing communications support to other shared services teams when required. You will design, execute, and measure integrated internal communications campaigns that mobilize, engage, unify and inspire our global workforce. If you are a strategic communications leader who excels at turning insights into stories that spark engagement, strengthen the employee experience, and bring people together across the organization, we want you to join our mission. The Role Design and execute internal communications plans that support HR priorities and programs—talent management, learning & development, total rewards, diversity & inclusion, employee engagement and wellness, etc.—across our fast‑growing global organization. When needed, partner with other shared services functions to develop and deliver communications that reinforce their initiatives while staying aligned with the overall MDA Space brand. Oversee and produce HR-related content—crafting and guiding announcements, toolkits, FAQs, slide decks, videos, intranet posts, microsites and other assets that support programs, policies and organizational changes while staying true to the MDA Space purpose, mission, vision, values and brand guidelines. Support HR change initiatives, ensuring messages are coherent, timely and aligned for a globally dispersed workforce. Own the global HR communications editorial calendar, aligning it with the enterprise schedule and partnering with Internal Communications and Business Area Leads to synchronize timing, eliminate duplication, and maintain a single, globally unified narrative. Champion employee‑centric storytelling that highlights achievements, milestones and everyday contributions across the organization. Foster two‑way dialogue by facilitating employee Just Ask sessions, employee events and digital forums that give employees a voice in shaping the workplace culture. Define success metrics, track engagement (open rates, click‑through, pulse‑survey results, sentiment analysis) and continuously refine tactics based on data, insights and employee feedback. Who You Are Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Business, Marketing or a related field. 5‑8 years of progressive experience in internal communications, employee engagement or change communications. Superior English language skills, French a strong asset. Demonstrated ability to build and execute strategic, multi‑channel communications plans that drive measurable business outcomes. Proven track record of managing complex projects from concept through delivery. Direct experience partnering with HR to craft cohesive communications an asset. Superior writing, editing and storytelling skills; comfortable producing a variety of content for senior executives and frontline staff alike. Strong analytical mindset—comfortable interpreting data, building dashboards, and turning insights into actionable improvements. Ability to influence senior leaders, earn trust across diverse functional groups, and champion a culture of openness. Familiarity with intranet platforms, email distribution tools, video production basics, and analytics suites. Special Considerations Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the Reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP), and be able to obtain higher clearances. As a member of the MDA Space team, you and your eligible dependents can enroll in a benefits plan that provides a comprehensive level of protection through competitive health care, including: health care plans, supplemental and flexible drug plans, dental and vision benefits, disability income protection, life insurance, group retirement savings plans and an employee assistance program. Equal Opportunity MDA Space is an equal opportunity employer with a strong focus on diversity and inclusion. We are committed to treating all employees and candidates with respect and dignity. If you require assistance or a reasonable accommodation due to a disability during the application or recruitment process, please let us know.
