Network Engineer Team Lead

Role: Network Engineer – Team Lead (On-Site | Navi Mumbai | Night Shift – US Hours)

We are hiring for a Network Engineer – Team Lead to drive network architecture, operations, and team leadership for high-density campus and SMB environments. This role combines hands-on expertise in LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi with strong leadership, business alignment, and operational discipline using PSA tools (ConnectWise). You will own the design, performance, security, and reliability of campus networks that support classrooms, learning spaces, BYOD, and large-scale mobility.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop network/support engineers, foster accountability and continuous improvement
• Translate institutional and business needs into scalable, secure network solutions
• Architect, deploy, and optimize LAN, WAN, and WLAN (Wi-Fi), including APs, controllers, L2/L3 switches, routers, and firewalls
• Manage advanced configurations: VLANs, segmentation, STP, QoS, DHCP, DNS, OSPF/BGP routing, redundancy & resiliency
• Ensure high-density performance and seamless roaming across classrooms, labs, auditoriums, and campus spaces
• Support BYOD, e-learning platforms, cloud tools, and high-volume student/staff access
• Own operations through ConnectWise (or similar PSA): ticketing, SLAs, escalations, RCAs, documentation, time logs, project execution
• Build dashboards/reports on SLA health, recurring issues, network performance, and project capacity
• Communicate complex technical topics clearly to non-technical stakeholders; create diagrams, SOPs, architecture docs
• Collaborate closely with global teams, leadership, vendors, and academic stakeholders.
• Travel to U.S as per business requirements for project oversight or large implementations, if any.

Must-Have Skills

• Strong L2/L3 networking: VLANs, segmentation, QoS, DHCP, DNS, STP, OSPF, BGP
• Proven experience managing high-density campus Wi-Fi at scale
• Hands-on expertise with APs, switches, routers, firewalls, WAN connectivity
• Deep troubleshooting, performance tuning, capacity analysis
• Experience with ConnectWise Manage or other PSA/ITSM tools
• Minimum 3+ years leading or mentoring technical teams
• Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder alignment
• Business-first, process-driven, and highly structured mindset

Preferred Qualifications

• CCNP, Fortinet NSE, Sonicwall, Aruba ACMP/ACDP, Juniper, Meraki, Ubiquiti, or equivalent certifications
• Experience in K–12 schools, universities, or campus learning environments
• Exposure to NAC, SD-WAN, cloud-managed networking, or automation
• Experience designing networks for large-scale mobility and educational environments
