Your Opportunity
The Program Coordinator, Global Programs will work as part of the International Student Experience & Global Fluency (ISEGF) team and will provide support to students who participate in key global programs administered by the CIE including the Minor in Global Leadership and co-curricular programming through the Global Citizen program. Reporting to the Associate Director, International Student Experience and Global Fluency, the program coordinator provides support and enrichment programming to students in these programs, as well as supporting the work of the Associate Director in providing administrative support to faculty partners involved in these signature programs.
Under the direction of the Associate Director, the Program Coordinator, Global Programs will coordinate logistics to deliver global programs, design and deliver enrichment activities related to the global programs, triage and escalate student accessibility and personal circumstances hindering academic performance and personal wellbeing, monitorrecruitment, retention and completion of programs. The incumbent will work closely with the University’s Student Life portfolios, tri-campus International Centres, student organizations, clubs and groups to implement and promote access to great programming, services, educational and outreach initiatives related to global program opportunities. Through these partnerships, the incumbent also facilitates and promotes access to and awareness of international student experience programs, services, resources and initiatives across U of T while taking into consideration and positioning particular needs.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Planning and implementing components of curricular and/or co-curricular programs and activities
- Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming
- Developing content for marketing and/or promotional materials
- Developing strategies that maximize outreach to students
- Writing summary reports on programs and services
- Implementing plans and process improvements for program and service activities
- Fostering and maintaining networks to build capacity and collaboration
- Coordinating the recruitment process and training of casual staff
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of demonstrable experience in designing, delivering and evaluating (international) student experience programs is required.
- Of the 4 years related experience, a minimum 3 years demonstrated experience in intercultural and global fluencies initiatives is required.
- Of the 4 years related experience, a minimum 3 years demonstrated experience building successful collaborative programming with a diverse range of stakeholders toward a common goal is required.
- Experience working with faculty, staff, and students in a university setting, including high-level officials is required.
- Demonstrated experience in program design, delivery and evaluation is required.
- Demonstrated experience reviewing and assessing student application for admission into programs is required.
- Demonstrated experience of good practices in student retention and program completion is required.
- Demonstrated experience leading large components of projects.
- Interpersonal and intercultural communications skills are essential.
- Excellent administrative skills, including word processing, data analysis, desktop publishing and experience with databases.
- Proficiency in developing assessment tools, analysing and interpreting data.
- Strong assessment (quantitative and qualitative) skills, including program evaluation and performance assessments.
- Proven experience in working in flexible environments and in dealing with uncertainty.
- Demonstrated high level of accuracy.
