Know more: wri-india.org Overview of Energy Program: The objective of the WRI India energy program is to inform and guide India’s transition to cleaner energy. The program focuses on three inter-related aspects of this energy transition: enhancing energy access, scaling renewables among specific consumer categories, and achieving higher levels of energy and buildings efficiency. Our Energy for Equitable Development pillar is specifically aimed at ensuring access to affordable and clean energy so as to improve socio-economic development in rural and remote regions of India. Through strong research, ground-level implementation experience, partnerships with key stakeholders and communicating our work, we seek to achieve impact at scale. Job Highlight: WRI India is seeking for a Research Intern to support its work in Energy Program. This internship focuses on enabling the corporate and industrial engagements by doing a sectoral analysis and mapping of stakeholders in the energy transition value chains. What you will do: Review sectoral actions and commitments of corporates and industries in India to achieve net-zero, decarbonisation, RE and circularity targets Establishing a value proposition for engagements with different stakeholder types Support the private sector team in building the database of stakeholders for engagements, mapping the current engagements and the Wishlist of stakeholders from and for the Energy Program. Focus on exploring opportunities with PSU sector companies and their engagement models to help build public-private sector collaborations. Review case studies and models (national and global) from various networks / alliances and establish a positioning of WRI India to engage with industries and corporates that will support pillar / project specific objectives. Creating relevant collateral materials for private sector engagements What you will need: Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Energy Policy, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field. Foundational knowledge of renewable energy and clean energy transition sectors (industries, corporates and MSMEs) and role of public and private sector partners. Strong research, analytical, and data-gathering skills, with a demonstrated ability to synthesize complex technical and stakeholder database information. Familiarity with the Indian renewable energy landscape and relevant environmental/e-waste regulations is highly desirable. Please Note: The internship is an unpaid (no stipend) internship. The Applicant should be able to borne his/her expenses. Location: Bangalore (preferred), Mumbai or Delhi at one of WRI India’s office locations.
