Role Title: AWS Technical Project Manager

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

Duration: 6–12 Months of Contract with possible extension

Experience Required: 12+ Years

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced AWS Technical Project Manager to drive delivery execution for strategic initiatives across Data Products, Data Fabric, Data Portal, Metadata Management, and AI Agent Enablement. This is a hands-on delivery-focused role embedded directly within the engineering organization, partnering closely with engineers, technical architects, product owners, and business stakeholders to ensure successful execution of complex cloud and data platform initiatives.

The ideal candidate is an organized, technically fluent project leader with strong Agile delivery expertise and proven experience managing cloud-based data platform projects in AWS environments. While this role does not require coding, the candidate must possess sufficient technical depth to effectively engage engineering teams, identify delivery risks, manage dependencies, and drive execution excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Own and manage the end-to-end delivery lifecycle for engineering initiatives across Data Products, Data Fabric, Data Portal, Metadata, and AI-related programs.
Maintain and optimize Jira structures, including epics, features, user stories, sprint boards, backlogs, workflows, and dependency tracking.
Partner daily with engineering teams, Technical Area Leads (TALs), architects, product owners, and business stakeholders to align priorities and delivery objectives.
Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily standups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and release planning.
Ensure work is properly prioritized, estimated, sequenced, assigned, and delivered against committed timelines.
Track project status, milestones, risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and decisions, providing proactive mitigation plans.
Drive RAID management, escalation handling, and resolution of blockers impacting delivery.
Translate business requirements and product objectives into actionable engineering deliverables and acceptance criteria.
Provide regular executive and stakeholder reporting on project progress, risks, trade-offs, and resource constraints.
Foster accountability across teams while maintaining alignment on strategic objectives and delivery commitments.
Support roadmap execution for cloud-based data platform modernization and AI enablement initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

12+ years of Project Management experience, with significant experience leading technical and engineering-focused initiatives.
Proven experience working as a Technical Project Manager or Delivery Manager supporting engineering teams in Agile environments.
Strong expertise with Jira, Agile methodologies, Scrum, sprint delivery, backlog management, and release planning.
Experience managing projects involving AWS cloud technologies and cloud-native data platforms.
Strong understanding of:

Data Fabric Architecture
Metadata Management
Data Catalogs
Data Portals
Data Governance concepts
Experience managing cross-functional technical teams and complex delivery dependencies.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, facilitation, and escalation management skills.
Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and establish structure, governance, and execution discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

Exposure to AI/ML and Generative AI initiatives.
Working knowledge of:
AI Agents
Large Language Models (LLMs)
Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
Semantic Layers
Knowledge Graphs
Experience supporting enterprise data modernization and digital transformation programs.
AWS certification(s) preferred.
Experience within large enterprise or investment management environments is advantageous.
