Job Description
We are looking for a curious, driven PR and Influencer Marketing Intern to join the Hype PR team. This is a hybrid role that gives you real, hands-on exposure to both earned media and influencer campaigns; not coffee runs and filing. You’ll work alongside experienced publicists and influencer strategists, contribute to active client work, and leave with a genuine understanding of what it takes to run campaigns at an agency.
This role is ideal for a student or recent graduate who is passionate about communications, pop culture, and storytelling. We’re looking for someone ambitious, who reads the news, knows their creators, and is eager to learn the craft from the ground up.
What You’ll Learn & Do
PR & Media Relations
- Support the team in researching journalists, editors, and producers across Canadian print, digital, and broadcast outlets.
- Assist in drafting pitches, press releases, and media advisories under the guidance of senior team members.
- Help maintain and update media lists to keep our outreach sharp and current.
- Monitor daily news coverage and flag relevant stories, trends, or opportunities for client campaigns.
- Assist with press event coordination, including logistics, invitations, and on-site support.
Influencer Marketing
- Support influencer research and talent discovery across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
- Assist in building and maintaining influencer lists tailored to client briefs and campaign objectives.
- Help coordinate influencer outreach, product seeding logistics, and content deliverable tracking.
- Compile campaign reports including engagement metrics, reach, and coverage summaries.
- Stay on top of trending creators, viral moments, and platform updates to keep our influencer knowledge fresh.
What We’re Looking For
- Recently graduated from a program in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
- A genuine interest in media, storytelling, and the influencer space; you follow creators and read the news because you want to, not because you have to.
- Strong written communication skills with an eye for detail and tone.
- Organized, proactive, and comfortable juggling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with social media platforms, especially TikTok and Instagram.
- A team-first attitude and an eagerness to learn from those around you.
- Previous internship or co-op experience in communications or marketing is an asset, but not required.
