🌱 We're Hiring: Home Energy Support Auditor — DC-Maryland Metro Area

We work closely with residents to help them understand and optimize how their homes use energy — combining on-site services with education and support to reduce energy costs, improve comfort, and lessen environmental impact. The Role This is a full-time, on-site role based in MD/DC. You'll conduct in-home energy inspections, assess building systems and appliances, and gather data on energy usage and efficiency. You'll explain findings to residents in clear, accessible language, recommend improvements, and help them understand available programs and incentives. Day-to-day, you'll perform audits to established standards, document results, prepare reports, and follow up with customers to support energy-saving measures — collaborating with teammates to deliver great service, staying safe on-site, and helping us improve our tools and process along the way.
This role is a launchpad: after training, most auditors grow into a Lead Auditor position, typically within 3–6 months.
Who We're Looking For
- Strong inspection/auditing skills and attention to detail
- Working knowledge of energy efficiency and home performance (insulation, HVAC, appliances) — or a genuine interest in learning it
- Excellent communication and active listening; comfortable building trust with residents from all backgrounds
- Comfortable with digital tools for on-site documentation and reporting
- Able to work safely on-site, including physical mobility for home inspections
- High school diploma or equivalent required
A plus, not a must
- Certification or training in home energy auditing or building performance
- Experience in residential construction, HVAC, weatherization, or a related trade
- Technical/vocational coursework in energy, building science, or environmental studies
