Job Description
In this role as a KYC Analyst at HSBC, you will be responsible for overseeing the Negative News Screening (NNS) process to ensure compliance with agreed procedures. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Engaging relevant stakeholders and conducting sense-checking of responses from the front office for accuracy
- Assisting Stakeholders/BRR team/Auditors with queries and investigations related to NNS activity
- Preparing management information and governance papers to monitor CLM key risk indicators and performance
- Ensuring consistency and timeliness of reporting created through MI-tools such as Microsoft Access and Power BI
- Managing CLM related business extraction requests and ensuring the existence of required templates and approvals
- Performing Business Management administrative tasks like maintaining audit logs, MSII logs, and periodic team reminders
- Conducting adhoc remediation exercises to maintain accurate client records, particularly related to large client static data
- Supporting the execution of Client Selection and Exit Management (CSEM) process using an automated tool and facilitating the production of associated Management Information
- Monitoring team inbox daily and acting on requests within stated deadlines
- Supporting the ongoing development and improvement of UCM-CS (strategic workflow tool for CSEM process)
- Collaborating with Global teams to ensure reporting and compliance with Global Private Banking Regional Reputational Risk and Client Selection Committee policies
- Supporting Audit/FCRA/Regulator data requests and prioritizing workload to meet process SLAs
To excel in this role at HSBC, you should possess:
- At least 5 years of experience in Banking/Financial Services industry/Compliance and risk management or KYC sector
- Fluent English language skills (written and spoken)
- Understanding of Client Lifecycle, Customer Due Diligence, and Risk
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills with the ability to evaluate information critically from multiple sources
- Experience in developing data solutions and transforming raw data into actionable business insights
- Ability to engage with individuals in senior roles, using effective communication and planning skills
- Strong judgmental skills to identify and resolve problems
- Capability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
- Ability to build connections and collaborate across the organization
- Preference for Avaloq and Power BI experience, though not essential
- Strong keyboard skills and computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications
- Adaptability in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
