Cloud Data Platform Engineer

Our client, a leading Canadian financial institution, is growing its Cloud & AI Engineering team and is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to help design, build, and scale enterprise grade AI/ML platforms.

This hybrid role offers flexibility to work from either the Downtown Toronto or Scarborough office.

About The Role

In this position, you’ll collaborate with Cloud, Data, and AI teams to architect and deliver secure, scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure. You’ll play a key role in enabling AI/ML experimentation, model training, and production deployment within a highly regulated, enterprise environment.

You Will

• Partner with Cloud Engineering teams to design and build robust AWS infrastructure.
• Work with Development teams to understand technical requirements and provision AWS platform services supporting AI/ML solutions.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to develop tools that support experimentation, ML model training, and production operations.
• Design end to end data solutions using DevOps practices with CDK or CDKTF.
• Architect low latency, highly available systems, including capacity planning, data pipelines, and disaster recovery frameworks.
• Promote engineering best practices, conduct code reviews, and proactively solve complex technical challenges.
• Balance multiple priorities to support strategic business objectives.

What You Bring

• 6–10 years of hands on experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or related infrastructure roles (mandatory).
• Strong experience architecting and provisioning AWS cloud services.
• Hands on experience deploying and managing cloud infrastructure on Azure.
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and one or more programming languages: TypeScript, Node.js, Python (Boto3).
• Experience with CDK or Terraform for cloud provisioning.
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and AWS SageMaker Studio.
• Excellent communication, consulting, and problem solving skills when working with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in the financial services sector is a significant asset, especially within regulated, enterprise scale environments.
