Based in Camrose, Alberta, we manufacture motorized dampers and associated electrical controls used in heating and ventilation systems. Our customers include wholesalers, HVAC contractors, and end users across North America.
Hoyme Business Overview
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer with roughly 3–5 years of experience who wants broad responsibility and real ownership. This is not a narrow desk-engineering role. You will be involved in technical troubleshooting, product and process documentation, manufacturing support, and continuous improvement across the business.
This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is smart, practical, organized, and comfortable working directly with products, customers, and the shop floor.
What You’ll Do
· Take technical troubleshooting calls from customers, contractors, wholesalers, and internal team members
· Diagnose product, application, wiring, assembly, and installation issues
· Create and improve work instructions, assembly procedures, test procedures, and product documentation
· Document how our products are built so knowledge is clear, consistent, and repeatable
· Support production with root-cause problem solving on quality, assembly, and throughput issues
· Work with operations and production staff to improve manufacturability, consistency, and efficiency
· Assist with product changes, BOMs, routings, drawings, and revision control
· Support new product introductions and engineering changes
· Help standardize technical information used by customer service, sales, and production
· Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on quality, lead time, and labour efficiency
· Spend time on the floor learning products, processes, and common failure modes
What We’re Looking For
· Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar
· Roughly 3–5 years of engineering experience in manufacturing, industrial, HVAC, electromechanical, or related environments
· Strong troubleshooting ability with mechanical and basic electrical/control systems
· Able to create clear documentation, SOPs, and work instructions
· Comfortable speaking with customers and internal teams to solve technical issues
· Strong attention to detail and follow-through
· Practical, hands-on mindset; willing to get into the product and process details
· Experience with drawings, BOMs, revision control, and standard manufacturing documentation
· Proficient with Microsoft Office; ERP/MRP or CAD experience is an asset
· HVAC, sheet metal, airflow control, or low-voltage controls experience is an asset, but not required
What Success Looks Like
In the first 6–12 months, the right person will:
· Become one of the go-to technical resources for troubleshooting
· Build clear, usable documentation for how our core products are made
· Reduce tribal knowledge by capturing process and product know-how
· Improve consistency in production and technical support
· Help strengthen the bridge between engineering, production, and customers
Why Join Hoyme
· Broad role with real responsibility
· Direct exposure to products, customers, and manufacturing operations
· Opportunity to grow into a bigger technical/operations role over time
· Join a long-standing Alberta manufacturer serving customers across North America
