About the Role
Under direct supervision, support for assigned new and renewal accounts. Including but not limited to collecting data, account setup, rating, producing quotes and binders, issuing policies and endorsements. Proactively assist in ensuring the underwriting process is handled efficiently and accurately. Provide Underwriters with required reports and analysis. This is an entry-level position responsible for completing routine assignments while developing foundational skills and gaining experience in analysis and problem-solving.What You'll Do
Provide operational product development for Stop Loss, Individual, Jumbo, Public and National Market Lines, ensuring accurate, timely policy service.
Coordinate underwriters and internal partners to resolve service needs, answer questions, and support workflow execution
Identifying issues early, working with underwriting partners to resolve them, and escalating when appropriate.
Interpret data and set up accounts in appropriate system(s) ensuring accuracy, often working directly with the underwriter.
Monitor underwriting funnel performance, including renewals, quote volume and identify and communicate the drivers behind observed trends.
Prepare underwriter ERISA file
Using underwriting software (STEPWISE) to provide pricing data
What You Bring
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma/GED required.
Minimum of two (2) years experience in operational role.
Knowledge:
Basic understanding of the healthcare industry preferred
Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications (Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Demonstrated teamwork, analytical thinking, and interpersonal skills
Skills & Abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to clearly explain complex analytical concepts to non‑technical audiences
Customer‑focused mindset with a consultative approach
Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex projects
Strong documentation and organizational skills

Salary Range:
$56,200 - $75,285This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. This range has been created in good faith based on information known to Horizon at the time of posting. Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case.
