Job description
Position Summary
The Air Force Supply Planner provides expert item management and supply chain optimization services ensuring efficient, effective distribution and sustainment of Air Force assets worldwide. This role applies in-depth knowledge of supply chain principles, repair procedures, logistics processes, and Air Force budgetary systems to manage items, analyze data, and optimize global asset distribution, resolving complex inventory management problems in support of the 638th SCMG.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop requirements, perform item management, and execute requirements planning.
- Evaluate program efficiency and validate repair requirements, initiating and managing organic and contract repair arrangements.
- Procure items, maintain supporting documentation, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Optimize global asset distribution based on customer needs; analyze data to determine optimal demand-planning methods.
- Resolve complex inventory management problems using specialized analytical techniques.
- Prepare reports and briefings for management and customers; assist Government personnel with day-to-day supply operations.
- Apply knowledge of logistics planning, programming, and budgeting systems; utilize relevant Government data systems.
- Lead, guide, and motivate assigned personnel while communicating effectively across stakeholder groups.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Air Force / DoD supply chain management, logistics, or acquisition sustainment.
- Active DoD Secret security clearance required (no interim clearance provision); must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
- Ability to pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) for access to Government information systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing reports, briefings, and correspondence for Government stakeholders.
- Proficiency with standard Government logistics and data systems (training provided on Government-specific tools).
- Ability to work on-site, co-located with Government personnel at Georgia.
- U.S. citizenship required.
