Role and Responsibilities:

As a Kitchen Designer at The Home Depot, you will assist customers in transforming their kitchen and bath visions into reality. Your role is critical to ensuring customers receive personalized design solutions that meet their needs and preferences. You will use design tools and showroom resources to educate customers, set clear expectations, and advocate for Home Depot’s products and services.

• Engage with customers to understand their kitchen and bath design needs.
• Offer “good, better, best” product options and provide samples for customers to take home.
• Guide customers through the design process, offering expert advice on products, services, and installation.
• Ensure the showroom is clean, organized, and well-stocked, providing a welcoming and safe shopping environment.
• Advocate for current promotions, financing options, and Home Depot’s unique advantages over competitors.
• Follow up with customers on project statuses and address any questions throughout the design and installation process.
• Maintain strong customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Experience in kitchen or interior design or a related field.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
• Ability to work with design tools and software (e.g., 20/20 Design, AutoCAD, or similar design software).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to present solutions to a variety of customer needs.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to explain complex design ideas and product features to customers in a clear, understandable manner.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail or customer service.
• Knowledge of home improvement products and installation processes.
• Experience with 3D design software for kitchen and bath planning.
• Certification in kitchen design or interior design (e.g., NKBA certification, CKD).
• Experience in managing design projects from concept to completion.
