Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Android Developer to design and build modern mobile applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with modern Android architecture (MVVM/MVI) and will help modernize legacy Android applications while contributing to greenfield development initiatives.

This role requires someone comfortable owning the entire Android development lifecycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and building scalable, secure mobile applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain advanced Android applications using Kotlin
• Modernize and refactor existing Android codebases, including migrating legacy Java apps to Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
• Own the full Android development lifecycle from design through deployment and maintenance
• Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, backend engineers, and QA teams
• Translate UX and product requirements into scalable mobile solutions
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize application performance
• Conduct code reviews and refactoring to ensure maintainability and efficiency
• Ensure applications meet performance, security, and accessibility standards

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years of Android development experience
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin with a solid Java foundation
• Experience migrating legacy Java Android applications to Kotlin + Jetpack Compose
• Proven portfolio of apps released on the Google Play Store
• Deep knowledge of Android SDK and Android Studio
• Strong experience with MVVM architecture
• Hands-on experience with:
• Jetpack Compose
• Compose Navigation
• LiveData
• Experience with Dependency Injection
• Strong experience using Kotlin Coroutines and Flow
• Familiarity with Jetpack libraries such as:
• Lifecycle
• Navigation
• WorkManager
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs
• Hands-on experience with Firebase:
• Push Notifications
• Analytics
• Crashlytics
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Bitrise)
• Strong Git/version control skills
• Experience working in Agile environments using tools such as Jira and Bitbucket
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• Experience with MVI architecture
• Implementation of Biometric Authentication
• Contributions to open-source projects or active GitHub repositories
• Prior experience working as the sole Android developer on a project or product
