The Department of Revenue is recruiting for a Senior Industrial Appraiser (Appraiser Analyst 3) position. We are seeking talented, detail-oriented individuals to join our Property Tax Division in the Valuation Unit. This position is headquartered in our Salem office; however, the successful candidate may be eligible for in-state hybrid work. Hybrid work includes performing duties both onsite in a standard office environment and remotely. This position involves in‑field work at various sites around the state and requires a valid driver’s license. In-field work may last 2-4 days at a time, staying overnight in motels/hotels near site. To be considered for Department of Revenue recruitments, applicants must reside within the state of Oregon. Current Revenue employees who live outside of Oregon may apply and will be considered. What You Will Be Doing Below is a sampling of job duties. It is not meant to encompass all duties. Independently plan and organize work to assure timely completion of assigned industrial accounts which consists of appraisals, valuation reviews, industrial return processing, and special projects. Appraise complex industrial properties to estimate real market value for ad valorem tax purposes. Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge and specialization of select industries and the issues that affect the valuation of specialized industrial properties. Collecting and analyzing data and performing field inspections of industrial plants and properties. Participate in the development of approved appraisal methods and the implementation of these methods in the appraisal process. Analyze cost, income, and market data to assist in the development and maintenance of appraisal tools such as (but not limited to) cost and market databases, depreciation guidelines and schedules, obsolescence studies, and industry trend studies. For a complete position description click here For any additional questions please contact Liz Zolkoske, Elizabeth.ZOLKOSKE@dor.oregon.gov This Is What You Need To Qualify Must possess Registered Appraiser status through the State of Oregon Department of Administrative Services or the ability to obtain within six months of hire AND one of the following: Five (5) years of experience in appraisals, accounting, or auditing. One year of this experience must have been in conducting market value appraisals of commercial, industrial, or public utility properties; OR A bachelor's degree in accounting, economics, real estate, business administration, forestry, engineering, or a related field AND two (2) years of appraisal experience; OR An associate degree in property appraisal or real estate technology or a related field AND three and a half (3.5) years of appraisal experience. Appraisal experience must be obtained under appraiser registration, licensure, or certification granted by a state regulatory agency. This position requires a valid State of Oregon driver's license. NOTE: Appraisal experience gained under appraiser certification or licensure granted by a state regulatory agency may be substituted for registered appraisal experience.
