SENIOR FINANCIAL SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
Washington, DC | Contract-to-Perm | $40/HR – $43/HR
Hybrid (on-site 2-days per month and when required)

This position supports the Finance department by managing financial systems, ensuring data integrity, preparing accurate and timely financial reports, and contributing to budgeting, forecasting, and compliance activities. This role works closely with the Director of Financial Reporting & Compliance to enhance reporting transparency and strengthen governance.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Accounting & Reconciliation:
- Prepare and post journal entries, including month-end closing activities and investment portfolio entries.
- Perform monthly balance sheet and revenue/expense reconciliations; resolve variances.
- Review and correct bank reconciliations and general ledger accounts.
- Maintain and update the Chart of Accounts.
- Prepare supporting schedules (e.g., investment, affiliates, management fee).
- Support annual audit requests by preparing reports and responding to inquiries.
- Train accounting staff on reconciliations, journal entries, variance analysis, and system use.
Systems Administration & Support:
- Administer MS Dynamics GP and integrated applications.
- Manage user access, security, workflow rules, and GL account maintenance across financial systems.
- Perform routine system maintenance – check links, control testing, and daily monitoring.
- Support integrations, test updates, patches, upgrades, and new module implementations.
- Provide end-user technical support; troubleshoot issues and escalate as needed.
- Serve as liaison with IT and external consultants to drive system improvements and efficiency.
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Design, configure, and maintain internal and external financial reports using Management Reporter, Excel, and other tools.
- Generate and review monthly program-level general ledger reports for accuracy.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial management reports, dashboards, and variance analyses.
- Ensure timely delivery of financial statements and reports per the accounting calendar.
- Support quality control and troubleshooting of all financial reporting outputs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4+ years of full-cycle experience in accounting (AR, AP, GL, fixed assets, etc.) and financial reporting.
- Strong hands-on ERP Implementation experience – Specifically, MS Dynamics GP.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting (budget vs. actual, cash flow, compliance schedules, and hoc analysis).
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with Remote Desktop.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, deadline-driven, and an effective communicator who can multitask.
Preferred
- MBA or Master's in Accounting or Finance.
- 6+ years of relevant experience in full-cycle accounting.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Financial, Purchasing, Fixed Assets, Analytical Accounting modules).
- Software experience with Management Reporter, Adaptive Planning, Integration Manager/SmartConnect, and SharePoint.
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite and basic SQL/database knowledge.
