Job description

Are you a Physiotherapist / Kinesiologist looking for a new opportunity? In this position, Physiotherapist or Kinesiologist to support community wellness through education-focused programming. This role is ideal for a health professional interested in preventive care, mobility education, and group-based learning, particularly for older adults and special populations. The successful candidate will plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging group‑based education and activity sessions focused on promoting mobility, independence, continence health, and fall prevention across adult and senior populations.

Hourly rate:

  • $45-60/hour clinic time (commensurate with experience and training/specialization)
  • Travel time is payable

Benefits: Transportation to work, flights within Alberta, accommodation and meals

Additional compensation: Overtime pay after 8 hours/day

Location: Fort McMurray, Janvier, Conkin

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Program Development & Delivery, Education & Health Promotion, Assessment, Safety & Risk Management, and Collaboration & Communication.
  • Contribute to ongoing program improvement by evaluating participant engagement and outcomes.
  • Support development of new topics or seasonal programming based on community needs
  • Use plain language explanations and demonstrations to support participant understanding and engagement.
  • Promote self management strategies to help participants maintain activity levels outside of structured sessions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Registered Physiotherapist (College of Physical Therapists of Alberta) OR
  • Registered Kinesiologist (Alberta Kinesiology Association or equivalent)
  • Experience delivering group education or wellness classes.
  • Knowledge of fall prevention strategies, arthritis management, or pelvic health education.
  • Comfortable presenting without access to specialized clinical equipment.
  • Previous community health, wellness, or outreach experience.

Pay: $45.00-$60.00 per hour

Experience

  • delivering group education or wellness classes: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Registered Physiotherapist (preferred)
  • Registered Kinesiologist (preferred)
