Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Low Voltage Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has experience installing, troubleshooting, and servicing low voltage systems in commercial and residential environments. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot structured cabling systems (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic)
  • Install and configure network infrastructure, including racks, patch panels, switches, and wireless access points
  • Install, program, and service CCTV surveillance systems
  • Install and troubleshoot access control systems, including card readers, keypads, electric strikes, maglocks, and door hardware
  • Install and configure commercial and residential audio/video systems
  • Install speakers, displays, projectors, video walls, conferencing equipment, and AV control systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, wiring diagrams, and project specifications
  • Perform cable routing, labeling, testing, and documentation according to industry standards
  • Conduct system testing, commissioning, and customer training
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, and team members
  • Complete service reports and project documentation accurately

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of low voltage installation experience preferred
  • Experience with one or more of the following:
  • Structured Cabling
  • Fiber Optic Cabling and Termination
  • CCTV/IP Video Surveillance
  • Access Control Systems
  • Audio/Video Systems
  • Network Infrastructure
  • Ability to terminate RJ45 connectors, punch-down blocks, and fiber connectors
  • Experience testing copper and fiber cabling
  • Ability to read construction drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass background screening if required

Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to 75 pounds
  • Work from ladders and lifts
  • Crawl through attics, crawlspaces, and ceilings
  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and climb throughout the workday

Preferred Experience

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

  • Fiber fusion splicing
  • Network switch configuration
  • Wireless networking
  • Crestron, Control4, Savant, URC, or similar control systems
  • Avigilon, Verkada, Axis, Hanwha, Ubiquiti, Hikvision, or similar CCTV platforms
  • Brivo, Paxton, Linear, Kantech, Honeywell, HID, or similar access control systems
  • Commercial AV and conference room installations
  • VOIP phone systems
  • Distributed audio systems
  • New construction and retrofit projects
