Job Description
This emerging D.C. nonprofit is seeking an experienced, highly organized and proactive professional for their People and Talent Manager opening. This role provides a special opportunity to partner closely with top leadership to manage full-lifecycle talent acquisition, develop hiring, and onboarding infrastructure, and build the cultural foundational framework for the organization. Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with senior leadership to identify staffing needs, lead full-cycle recruitment efforts including advertising the job postings, sourcing candidates, coordinating interviews, and overseeing offers.
- Foster strong talent pipelines through networking and collaboration with peer organizations, strengthening access to top talent for active and upcoming searches.
- Build and improve upon recruitment systems, procedures, and timelines, proactively identifying ways to maximize workflow efficiency.
- Assist with developing HR infrastructure, including employee onboarding/offboarding logistics, background check vendors, employee handbooks, and other materials.
- Maintain all personnel files and documentation, ensuring all work practices are compliant with federal and local employment rules and regulations.
- Develop and implement employee best practices and a consistent, effective system to conduct employee performance reviews.
- Serve as a right-hand, and advisor to senior leaders, proactively thinking beyond immediate hiring needs, consistently evaluating workflow and resources as the organization seeks to expand.
- Utilize detailed and thoughtful decision making and collaboration, to assist with shaping and defining the organization’s culture, creating a durable foundation that can be built upon for years to come.
