Experienced Paralegal with Private Wealth Practice

This esteemed law firm is seeking an experienced Paralegal to provide additional support to the firm’s Private Wealth Practice in their D.C. office. This role provides the opportunity to work directly with attorneys in the preparation of estate and gift tax returns (Forms 706 and 709), drafting estate planning documents, assisting with estate and trust administration, and maintaining accurate case files and deadlines. Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with estate administration and probate matters, including court filings, inventories, and required documentation.
• Prepare and support filing of complex estate and gift tax returns, including IRS Forms 706 and 709.
• Draft estate planning and related legal documents, such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and HIPAA authorizations.
• Manage trust and estate asset tracking, financial recordkeeping, and basic fiduciary accounting.
• Collect and organize client financial information and documentation to support legal and tax work.
• Coordinate with clients, advisors, and third parties to gather information and facilitate estate and trust administration.
• Monitor deadlines and maintain organized case files to support ongoing legal and tax compliance.

What We’re Looking For:

• Seasoned paralegal experience. You have strong related experience and a paralegal background operating in private wealth, trust and estates, and tax practices. An educational background in accounting is a plus!
• Brilliant bookkeeper. A high proficiency level in bookkeeping and technical systems such as Excel, Gems, eMoney, and Addepar will be critical to success in this role.
