Truck Driver Long Haul

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Long Haul Driver to operate tractor-trailers across regional and national routes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial driving, with expertise in handling various types of freight and trailers. This role offers the opportunity to work on long-distance routes, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining safety and compliance standards. Candidates should possess a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) and be comfortable with manual transmissions, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other specialized equipment. The position involves load and unload responsibilities, route driving, and adherence to all safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate tractor-trailers including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other freight vehicles.
• Drive long distances across multiple states or regions while adhering to scheduled routes and delivery timelines.
• Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance reports.
• Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and company policies during route driving.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route changes or delivery issues.
• Assist with securing loads for transport to prevent shifting or damage during transit.

Experience

• Proven experience in truck driving, especially in long-haul or route driving roles involving freight delivery.
• Familiarity with manual transmission trucks is preferred.
• Experience operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is a plus.
• Prior delivery driver experience with load & unload responsibilities is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols for various types of cargo.
• Valid CDL license with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle operated (e.g., tanker endorsement).
• Experience with forklift operation is advantageous but not mandatory. This position requires a dedicated professional capable of managing long hours on the road while prioritizing safety and efficiency. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent driving skills combined with a strong work ethic and commitment to compliance standards.
