Position Overview:

The Senior Human Resources Manager plays a key leadership role within the Global HR function, partnering with senior leaders and managers to deliver a high-quality, commercially focused people service. This role is responsible for leading core HR activity across employee relations, performance management, talent processes, policy development, compliance, organizational change, and team capability. The role also supports the delivery of the people strategy, continuous improvement, and a positive employee experience across the US side of our organization. Our US business encompasses both Hanley Energy Inc and Hanley Energy Electrical LLC which is a unionized environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business leaders to provide practical, commercially sound HR guidance and support.
  • Ensure HEE is supported and unionized actions, decisions and CBA requirements are understood and adhered to.
  • Drive the successful integration of Jabil with Hanley Energy where needed in particular as it relates to the unionized environment of Hanley Energy Electrical.
  • Support the HR Operations Manager in relation to employee relations matters including being the point of escalation where needed for any disciplinary, grievances, absence management, and conflict resolution processes
  • Support and coach managers to build confidence and capability in people management, performance conversations, and decision-making.
  • Drive effective performance management processes, including goal setting, review cycles, development planning, and improvement actions where required.
  • Support workforce planning, organizational design, succession planning, and talent reviews to meet current and future business needs.
  • Contribute to attraction, retention, and employer value proposition initiatives in partnership with the TA Manager and leadership teams.
  • Collaborate with the HR Ops Manager to review, develop, and implement HR policies, procedures, and guidance in line with employment law and organizational needs. Where applicable, ensure global policies are adopted in line with local legislation and best practices.
  • Ensure via the HR Operations manager and their team that benefits, payroll, HRIS, Immigration and Global mobility are managed effectively.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with employment legislation, internal governance requirements, and HR best practice.
  • Use HR metrics and insights to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and present recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Lead or contribute to HR projects such as system improvements, change programs, culture initiatives, and process enhancements.
  • Collaborate across the wider HR team to ensure a consistent, responsive, and employee-centered service.
  • Support learning, engagement, wellbeing, diversity and inclusion, and other people initiatives aligned to organizational priorities.
  • Manage, mentor, or develop the HR Operations team members where applicable, fostering capability and high performance within the function.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is an experienced HR professional with experience in working in unionized environments, with sound judgement, and the confidence to operate credibly with managers and senior stakeholders. They will bring a balance of operational excellence and strategic thinking, with a clear focus on service quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.

They will also demonstrate excellent communication skills, discretion, resilience, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree or professional qualification in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant HR qualification or membership of a recognized professional body is desirable.
  • Significant experience in a senior HR manager, or business partner role.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, HR policy, and employee relations practice.
  • Experience supporting organizational change, performance management, and people initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of an organization.
  • Experience using HR systems and data to support reporting, decision-making, and process improvement.
  • Experience working across multiple jurisdictions or business units is an advantage where relevant.
