Job Summary:
The Senior Contract Specialist position is responsible for drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and administration of a broad range of tenders, proposals, and other commercial contracts. Position requires elevated experience in legal and contract management processes exemplified through effectively evaluate the commercial and legal risk to Haemonetics and suggest appropriate contract structures or terms that will provide effective risk management. Actively participates in contract compliance, diligence issues, and reporting requirements. Individual will be further aligned to counsel internal department on the legal, regulatory, and business obligations set forth within contracts and elevate any issues to associate and/or general counsel as appropriate. Oversee the contract process, end to end, from drafting complex commercial agreements to managing the negotiation process and understanding the key regulatory and industry trends, to monitoring and reporting contract compliance for all business units. This position will require frequent verbal and written interaction with both internal and external stakeholders and the ability to identify and resolve complex commercial transactional/compliance issues. Ideal Candidates will have experience working with Hospital Contracts in a Medical Device or similar industry.
Essential Responsibilities:
Revise, edit, and prepare redlines of complex commercial contracts, including master services agreements, capital equipment purchase agreements, public tenders, group purchasing agreements, software agreements, collaboration agreements, development agreements, vendor agreements and negotiating non-customer-facing agreements as requested.
Effectively evaluate the commercial and legal risk to the Company and suggest appropriate contract structures or terms that will provide effective risk management.
Analyze the legal and business obligations set forth within contracts & tenders. Evaluate risk or potentially unfavorable language and elevate any issues to Legal Department and other applicable internal stakeholders.
Advise and counsel Commercial teams, to identify critical contractual & regulatory issues, assess potential legal options, and provide individuals and teams with an analysis and range of possible solutions.
Assist in ongoing periodic review of contract templates, contract playbooks, company guidelines, and contract policies and procedures.
Effectively manage the contract management system and ensure on-time processing of all contracts from initial request through execution.
Lead efforts to update and maintain the legal terms and conditions held with the contract management system.
Draft template contracts, correspondence, memoranda, and other documentation as needed.
Assist with compliance and diligence issues related to commercial transactions.
Monitors business through the analysis of key reports and actual customer results against contracts; proactively advises legal department on a routine basis of the results and out of compliance concerns and highlights trends and activities.
Keeping current with Haemonetics’ standards, trends, product offerings, and business models.
Serve as liaison between internal stakeholders and legal counsel as appropriate.
Proactively manages communications and follow-up with the stakeholders to ensure best customer service and visibility of the end to end contract processes
Research regulatory trends/Public Tender Laws, to anticipate and guard Haemonetics against legal risks
Pay superb attention to detail and provide timely legal support in a fast-paced environment.
Participate in other projects as requested
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required, including experience in complex tender handling where applicable. Paralegal degree preferred but not required.
Advanced university degree in law, or related business field. Preferred
5-7 years Professional experience in a law firm or corporate contract management setting required.
Prior experience in a healthcare industry (Medtech/Biotech/Pharma/Lifesciences) working directly with hospitals strongly required
Additional Skills and Requirements:
Strong understanding of legal issues and risks pertinent to commercial contract process. Working knowledge of Public Tender Law where applicable.
Solid understanding of contracting in life science companies, including the development, clinical and commercial contract processes
Capable of producing high quality routine work with general to minimal supervision.
Demonstrated analytical skills & problem solving skills

Pay Transparency:
The pay range for this role is:
$78,400.00-$133,400.00/AnnualEEO Policy Statement
The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account, without limitation, the candidate’s location, education, job-knowledge, skills, and experience in prior relevant roles.
Incentives may also be provided as part of Haemonetics’ employee compensation. For sales roles, employees will be eligible for sales incentive (i.e., commission) under the applicable plan terms. For non-sales roles, employees will be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, the target amount of which varies based on the applicable role, to be governed by the applicable plan terms. Employees may also be eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive plan, with eligibility and target amount dependent on the role.
In addition to compensation, the Company offers a competitive suite of benefits to its employees, including without limitation, a 401(k) with up to a 6% employer match and no vesting period, an employee stock purchase plan, “flexible time off” for salaried employees and, for hourly employees, accrual of three to five weeks’ vacation annually (based on tenure), accrual of up to 64 hours (annually) of paid sick time, paid and/or floating holidays, parental leave, short- and long-term disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, and/or health and welfare benefits.
