Hadrian is building autonomous factories that help aerospace and defense companies manufacture rockets, satellites, jets, and ships up to 10x faster and up to 2x cheaper. By combining advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing, we are reinventing how America produces its most critical parts.

We’re accelerating our mission with the launch of Factory 3 in Mesa, Arizona, a 290,000-square-foot facility creating 350 new jobs. We are expanding rapidly to support thousands of future hires, launching Hadrian Maritime to expand into naval production, and introducing a Factory-as-a-Service model that delivers complete systems instead of individual parts.

Hadrian is backed by leading investors including T. Rowe Price, Lux Capital, Founders Fund, and Andreessen Horowitz, our fast-growing team is united around reindustrializing American manufacturing for the 21st century and beyond.

The Role:

To facilitate our continued expansion, we are seeking a Facility Security Officer (FSO) to build and manage Hadrian’s facility security program. This leader will work with federal, private, and internal partners to ensure compliance with government regulations, corporate policies, and industry standards. You will be Hadrian’s primary point of contact for security matters related to classified information and will work closely with leadership across the Company to safeguard this information and maintain a secure working environment.

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of, and experience navigating, the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), the facilities clearance (FCL) process and related management standards, the operations and requirements of the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), and other relevant legal and regulatory regimes.

What You’ll Do

  • Own, develop, and lead Hadrian’s facility security program, ensuring compliance with NISPOM, DCSA requirements, and other applicable laws and regulations.
  • Administer and monitor personnel security clearances, access control systems, and visitor logs to ensure all requirements are met.
  • Conduct periodic security audits and assessments to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Partner closely with Hadrian’s legal, IT, security, and manufacturing leadership to manage and safeguard classified information, work environments, and related operations.
  • Work with third-party and government stakeholders to maintain compliant protocols and obtain necessary permissions and approvals.
  • Develop and provide FCL/NISPOM-specific training to Hadrian employees and contractors involved in relevant programs.
  • Verify compliance with NISPOM and related requirements, enforce need-to-know barriers, and act as Hadrian’s point of contact for incident response and management.

What We’re Looking For

  • 7-10+ years of experience in planning, developing, and implementing policies, procedures, and processes related to facility clearance, NISPOM, and related information security protocols.
  • Practical knowledge and experience with the Defense Information System for Security, National Industrial Security System, National Background Investigation Service, EAPP, and DCSA generally.
  • Previous FSO experience, including FSO certification, preferred.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Active Top Secret U.S. security clearance.
  • Proven success building systems from the ground up.
  • Strong experience managing multiple workflows and designing scalable systems.
  • Experienced strategic partner to senior leaders, managing complex processes and working with government and third-party partners to efficiently tackle difficult problems.
  • Comfortability handling sensitive, confidential, and classified materials.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.

BENEFITS FOR FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES

  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans for employees
  • 401k
  • Relocation support may be provided for certain situations, based on business need.
