Job Duties:

All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform the work described in the job order and must be available for the entire period of employment specified in Section A.3 & A.4. This work order is for qualified people to perform the duties related to harvesting produce in an apple orchard. Workers will be responsible for picking pumpkins, may also be required to pack apples. Workers must be able and willing to work in varied weather conditions including hot, humid summer days during harvests as high as 90 degrees with damp mornings. Workers must be able to pick apples as well as handle and climb a 20-foot ladder repetitively while carrying an apple picking bucket which is harnessed over the workers shoulders. The work assigned is physically demanding, bending, stooping and kneeling for long periods of time will be required. Workers must be able to lift and carry 80 pounds on a frequent basis. In addition, workers may be asked to drive tractor, pick up brush from orchard ground, repair broken bins, plant and water trees, and drive truck to remove apple bins from the outlying orchards at harvest time. Workers may be asked to operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (whether on or off farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach farmer's fields); and/or transport workers to the grocery store, bank, or laundry facilities on an as needed basis. Workers that are requested to drive will be required to possess a valid driver’s license; no worker will be rejected for not having a driver's license. Workers who do drive will still perform the same field work and other duties as non-driving workers; driving is not a primary duty. Workers will be compensated at the correct rate of pay for all hours worked, including when they are performing the employer’s obligation of driving. The employer will provide 1 day of training and allow 2 days of work for the worker to reach production standards. When harvesting apples, productivity must be at least 60 1-1/8 bushel boxes per 7 hours worked with no more than 4% bruising for the fresh market. The employer will furnish workers without cost all tools and equipment required to perform duties assigned. Workers referred to in this order must have a minimum of 3 months’ experience. Workers will be required to work a 7-hour shifts within the hours of 7:00am to 7:00pm from Monday through Friday and may offer to work 5-hour shifts within the hours of 7:00am to 7:00pm on Saturday. This schedule totals 40 hours per week. The 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. range accounts for varying orchard conditions (e.g. weather, crop maturity, harvest demands) to ensure that workers are able to complete the required weekly hours. Workers will not be scheduled for a full 12-hour shift. Workers may be offered additional hours beyond the standard schedule, subject to the mutual agreement of the workers and management. Workers will be provided with at least a 30-minute lunch break, staggered between 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., as determined by both the workers and management. Workers may choose where to eat their lunch and must return to work after the 30-minute break. The daily or weekly work schedules may vary due to weather, sunlight, temperature, orchard conditions, and other factors. The employer will notify workers of any change to the schedule. Workers should report for work with their own suitable clothing and must be able to understand and follow directions in simple English. Three (3) workers starting on August 28, 2026 and ending on October 26, 2026. Ten (10) workers starting on September 05, 2026 and ending on October 26, 2026.
