In this role, you will support a variety of development projects in the Western Canada region, including significant multi-family, office, industrial, retail, and mixed-use assets. The role will initially be focused on financial underwriting, market research and analysis, with direct involvement in specific projects, with a career path into full-time development management. You will work closely with senior team members throughout the full development cycle, from concept to completion, contributing to land acquisition, design, municipal approvals, construction, marketing, lease-up, and project handover activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support development underwriting through creation, updating, improving, and managing development proformas.
• Support the acquisition process through due diligence activities and development underwriting.
• Review and assess provincial and municipal planning initiatives, including proposed policy changes.
• Conduct market research and monitor industry trends.
• Collaborate with internal teams on business plans and approvals.
• Contribute to project design activities.
• Assist with securing municipal approvals including amendments, rezonings, permits, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with management of consultants and contractors to ensure project schedules, budgets, and quality standards are met.
• Work with internal teams on project marketing and leasing activities
• Support execution activities with partners.
• Contribute to special projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years’ experience in a related field.
• Post-secondary education in business, finance, real estate, economics, or related field.
• Passion for real estate, development, urban issues and design.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ability to create complex financial models.
• Understanding of real estate financial principles including investment returns.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated interest in commercial and multifamily real estate, design, urban development, and sustainability.
• Attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

The base salary for this position is between $71,400.00 to $107,100.00 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
