AI and Machine Learning Engineer

Join Grant Thornton US as an AI and Machine Learning Engineer!

We are seeking talented individuals to design and build cutting-edge AI solutions, including machine learning models, Generative AI, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and intelligent workflows. In this role, you will work with a dedicated team to ensure that our software engineering practices and MLOps strategies are followed closely, driving innovation in various projects.

Your contributions will include:

• Developing and enhancing applied AI solutions, advancing from prototypes to production-ready applications.
• Creating data preparation and feature engineering pipelines, with a focus on training and evaluation processes.
• Implementing robust AI services and APIs that integrate seamlessly with client systems.
• Adhering to high standards of software engineering including code quality, testing, and documentation.
• Applying solid MLOps practices for efficient model tracking, version management, and deployment.
• Ensuring solutions are equipped with observability features such as monitoring, performance tracking, and incident management.
• Embedding responsible AI practices and security measures throughout the development lifecycle.
• Collaborating with Solution Architects and client stakeholders to define requirements and deliver tangible results.
• Leading small teams, mentoring fellow engineers, and establishing reusable development patterns.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience for Manager positions or 7+ years for Director positions in delivering AI solutions in production environments.
• Proficiency in Python and experience in building high-quality, production-grade services.
• Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks and methodologies.
• Familiarity with Generative AI concepts and large language model evaluation.
• Understanding of MLOps principles and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong communication skills to effectively engage with clients and team members.
• Willingness to travel as required, up to 40% of the time.
• This position mandates in-person attendance at least two days a week at a Grant Thornton office or client site.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available.
