Training
For selected candidates, a mandatory paid training program of approximately 1 to 3 weeks (full days Monday to Friday) is required.
Duties
Reporting to the Security Supervisor, the Protective Services Officer preserves and maintains public peace in/on all government facilities. The officer works a rotating 24‑hour, 7‑day shift schedule, providing security services for all government buildings and associated grounds, aiming to prevent accidental damage, vandalism, illegal intrusion and other occurrences such as theft, unauthorized use of property, in association with local law enforcement agencies, fire departments and building maintenance staff.

Conditions of Employment
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check.
- Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 (5F) Manitoba Driver's Licence without restrictions.
- Emergency First Aid/CPR (Level C) Certificate and Automated External Defibrillators (AED) Certification.
- Must possess the ability to work rotating shifts encompassing a 24‑hour, 7‑day schedule including extended shifts and short notice call‑ins is required.
