Lead Software Engineer - Front End

Location: Remote (US, Canada, UK, Europe)

Full-Time | Reports to CTO

As our Lead Software Engineer, you’ll help shape the technical direction of the product, set the engineering bar, and help turn bold ideas into beautifully executed, production-grade software. You’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with product and design to build experiences that feel alive, intuitive and emotional, not just functional.

What You'll Own

Architect and build core product systems across our mobile platform, setting a strong technical foundation for scale, performance and maintainability

Take ideas from zero to one, working closely with design, then hardening them into production-ready software

Own the quality bar: establish engineering standards, review code, and ensure what we ship is fast, stable, readable and intentional

Drive features end-to-end, from early sketch through implementation, launch and iteration

Solve hard product problems — performance, reliability, state management, data flow, developer ergonomics and UX fidelity

Build pixel-perfect, buttery-smooth user interfaces that feel native across platforms

Diagnose and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks

Collaborate deeply with product and design in tight feedback loops

Mentor and elevate the team through example, feedback and shared ownership

Continuously improve tooling, workflows, architecture and delivery as the product evolves

What You Bring

Mobile & Frontend Expertise

Strong experience building production mobile applications with React Native

Deep fluency in modern JavaScript (ECMAScript) and React

Proven ability to build high-performance UIs that feel truly native

Strong understanding of mobile performance, rendering, state management, and UX fidelity

Technical Excellence

Strong track record shipping high-quality, production-grade software

Deep care for code quality, architecture, readability, and long-term maintainability

Experience working in large codebases with version control (Git-based workflows)

Comfortable integrating with REST APIs and managing data flow

Product Engineering & Ownership

Product-minded engineer who thinks beyond tickets and tasks

Able to take features end-to-end, from idea through implementation, launch, and iteration

Pragmatic decision-maker who knows when to move fast and scrappy, and when to slow down and build something robust

Comfortable navigating ambiguity and making trade-offs

Takes ownership of outcomes, not just outputs

Communication & Collaboration

Clear, direct communicator who works well with design, product, and engineering

Comfortable voicing opinions and challenging ideas constructively

Native iOS and/or Android experience, or curiosity about platform internals

Experience with CI/CD, automation pipelines, or DevOps workflows

Experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate development or improve quality
