Amma Canada is a religious charity inspired by Mata Amritanandamayi Devi. Amma Canada Farms is largely volunteer-run, and operates with the dual objective of serving Mother Nature while serving the local community. The Amma Canada Farms vegetable garden team grows a wide array of vegetables with a particular focus on culturally relevant crops of the South Indian and West Indian diaspora (Malabar spinach/poi, bottle gourd/lauki, bitter gourd/karela, etc). The proceeds from Amma Canada's vegetable crop sales support the organization's charitable activities. A portion of the harvest is donated to local food banks. While Amma Canada Farms is not certified organic, the team adheres to organic farming practices, and they strive continually to make their operations more regenerative and ecologically sound.

The Organic Vegetable & Fruit Farm Assistant will be working primarily in the vegetable garden, assisting with all aspects of production including planting, cultivating, harvesting, and field maintenance. If time permits, there may also be opportunities to work in Amma Canada's orchard of 200 fruit trees, and/or at the beehives, and/or on property maintenance.
