Job Description
Good Earth Gardeners is a garden design, installation and maintenance company based in Anne Arundel County and the Eastern Shore regions of Maryland. We are currently seeking an experienced Horticulturist and Garden Supervisor who is passionate about horticulture, the outdoors, and growing with a small business. As a Garden Supervisor, you will be responsible for planting, maintaining and managing multiple gardens. From simple planted containers to large estates, every day at Good Earth provides opportunities to showcase your gardening skills.
The Garden Supervisor oversees quality, sustainability, and aesthetics in the client's gardens. The ability to communicate effectively and confidently perform advanced horticultural practices is essential. Candidates with little to no horticultural experience are not recommended to apply.

Responsibilities
- Manage & maintain established trees, shrubs, perennials and annuals in residential gardens
- Perform pruning techniques such as thinning, shaping, and hedging
- Ensure health and growth of plants
- Perform strenuous gardening tasks such as planting, wedding, mulching, edging, and sod removal
- Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and fellow garden supervisors
- Confidently lead a landscaping crew without supervision
Qualifications
- Prior professional gardening and horticulture experience is required - at least 3 years
- Professionalism and the ability to work closely with others
- Current MD driver’s license and reputable driving record
- Ability to safely and effectively drive a truck with a trailer
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to confidently identify most landscape plants
- Ability to work in all weather conditions including wind, light rain, heat, and cold
- Good time management skills and the ability to multi-task
- Bend, kneel & lift at least 50lbs
- Ability to work spend a full work day outdoors, engaged in gardening tasks

Work Day: Monday - Friday, 7:30am-4:30/5:00 pm
Work Year: Mid-February to late December. Typically the year has a 6-week hiatus in winter
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
