Job Title - Medical coding (IPDRG multispecialty, Surgery Denial coding) - Sr. Manager

Location - Chennai / Bangalore

Key Responsibilities

12+ years’ Experience in Medical coding (IPDRG multispecialty, Surgery Denial coding)

Review inpatient medical records and assign accurate ICD and DRG codes as per IPDRG guidelines.

Perform coding for multispecialty cases including cardiology, orthopaedics, gastroenterology, and general surgery.

Analyse clinical documentation to ensure correct code assignment and sequencing.

Handle surgery denial cases by reviewing payer feedback and identifying root causes.

Recode denied claims to improve reimbursement and reduce revenue loss.

Ensure compliance with coding standards, payer guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff for documentation clarification.

Conduct audits on coded records to maintain accuracy and quality benchmarks.

Maintain TAT (Turnaround Time) while ensuring high coding accuracy.

Track and report denial trends and suggest preventive measures.

Use coding software and hospital information systems efficiently.

Stay updated with coding guideline changes and payer policies.

Participate in internal and external audits related to coding quality.

Support revenue cycle management by optimizing claim approvals.

Ensure confidentiality and security of patient health information.
