Company Overview
GH2 Solar Limited is building a hydrogen-first renewable energy platform spanning Solar EPC, Electrolyzer Manufacturing (under PLI), Green Hydrogen production, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and downstream future fuels – e-Methanol, e-SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel), Green Ammonia and other e-Fuels. The company is preparing for a main-board IPO. This role is central to building the commercial pipeline that underpins the company's growth and equity story.
Role Purpose
To lead and scale Business Development for GH2 Solar's Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and Green Hydrogen offtake/partnership pipeline – nationally and internationally. The GM – BD will be the primary commercial driver for converting India's and global energy-transition demand (decarbonisation mandates, blending obligations, PLI-linked offtake, refinery/petrochemical hydrogen substitution) into signed, bankable contracts. This is a high-ownership, high-visibility, individual-contributor-to-team-builder role reporting into the Founder's/MD's Office ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development Strategy & GTM
- Own the end-to-end BD strategy for Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and Green Hydrogen verticals – target segmentation, account mapping and go-to-market sequencing across India and priority international markets.
- Translate GH2 Solar's platform capabilities (Electrolyzes, green H2, ammonia/e-methanol/e-SAF, BESS) into segment-specific value propositions for refiners, petrochemical majors, Fertilizer companies, shipping/aviation off takers, and PSU/private energy companies.
- Build and own the 12–24 month revenue pipeline and rolling BD forecast; report pipeline health, conversion rates and deal velocity to MD's Office on a defined cadence.
2. Client & Market Development – National + International
- Build and personally manage senior relationships with Oil & Gas major players (national & international), petrochemical companies, and green hydrogen/ammonia/e-fuel offtakers.
- Lead international business development in target geographies (Middle East, South-East Asia, Europe or as directed) – including market entry assessment, in-country partner identification and representation at global energy transition forums.
- Represent GH2 Solar at industry conferences, investor/customer roadshows and government/policy forums to build brand visibility and lead generation.
3. Tendering, Bid Management & Deal Structuring
- Lead end-to-end tender lifecycle – opportunity identification, bid/no-bid decisioning, RFP/RFQ response, techno-commercial proposal development and negotiation – for PSU tenders, private RFPs and global bids.
- Own commercial structuring for large-ticket transactions, balancing bankability, margin protection and competitiveness; work closely with Finance on IRR/ROCE/EBITDA implications of each deal.
4. Strategic Partnerships & JV Development
- Identify, evaluate and structure partnerships – JVs, technology licensing, offtake agreements and strategic alliances – with global O&G majors, EPC players, electrolyzer OEMs and hydrogen technology providers.
- Support M&A-adjacent opportunities and partnership due diligence as directed by MD's Office.
5. Market Intelligence, IPO & Equity Story Support
- Track global and domestic energy transition policy (PLI for electrolyzers, Green Hydrogen Mission, carbon markets, SAF/e-fuel mandates) and competitor activity; convert into actionable BD strategy.
6. Team & Stakeholder Leadership
- Build, mentor and manage a BD team as the function scales; institute reporting discipline, CRM/pipeline hygiene and SLA-driven turnaround on client queries.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with Engineering, SCM, Finance, Legal and Execution teams to ensure deliverability of commitments made during the sales process.
Candidate Profile
Qualification & Experience
- MBA / PGDM from a reputed institute; Engineering background (Chemical/Mechanical/Petroleum) is a strong plus.
- 15–20+ years of Business Development / Sales leadership experience, with a substantial portion in Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Renewable Energy, Green Hydrogen, or adjacent capital-intensive infrastructure sectors.
- Demonstrated track record of closing large-ticket national and/or international deals, tenders or offtake agreements.
- Prior exposure to green hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, SAF, electrolyzers, BESS or renewable EPC business development strongly preferred.
- International deal-making or market development experience (Middle East / SE Asia / Europe) highly desirable.
