As our Senior Localization Specialist focused on Language Quality & AI, you will own our strategy for evaluating language quality, as well as testing and training AI models to help us achieve quality at scale.
This is a project-based role in which you will lead 1-3 major initiatives each quarter. Your work will directly support our global growth, requiring a blend of strategic thinking, creative problem-solving, and data-driven rigor to deliver measurable improvements.
Your mission
- Evaluate and train MT/AI models to continuously improve the output for different content types and make recommendations based on model effectiveness
- Define strategies for optimizing MT/AI models and determine the right allocation of MT/AIPE and human translation/review to achieve quality goals
- Design scalable quality measurement workflows, including integrations with TranslatedOS and automation
- Measure and report on language quality across 36+ languages and multiple content types (product, marketing, inventory), and establish quality benchmarks
- Analyze quality data (e.g. error patterns) and deliver insights into how quality levels impact users and business outcomes across different markets
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., Engineering, Quality Account Managers) to align on MT architecture decisions
Your toolkit
- 3+ years evaluating and optimizing MT and AI models across different content types and languages for a tech company with a large global reach
- Experience with prompt engineering and fine-tuning LLMs for translation tasks
- Strong technical knowledge of localization, including translation management systems, quality evaluation frameworks, automation tools, and managing translation memories, style guides, style guides, and glossaries
- Proven ability to design and implement scalable systems using methods like MTQE, AI LQA, and human review to measure language quality
- Strong analytical skills, using data and insights to make informed decisions
- Comfortable with high autonomy in fast-paced, ambiguous settings, executing with a test-and-learn mindset
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills – you can translate quality insights into actionable recommendations for stakeholders
