Who we are:
Who you are:
We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results! Geotab is seeking a Network Engineer who will design, develop, and maintain scalable, highly available network architectures while incorporating AI into network operations to enhance automation and optimize performance monitoring. The projects will vary in scope, complexity, and affected business area. If you love technology, and are keen to join an industry leader — we would love to hear from you!
What you'll do:
As a Network Engineer, your key area of responsibility will be maintaining Geotab's internal and cloud infrastructure networks, configuring network devices, setting up firewalls/switches, and leveraging AI-driven tools for compliance, security, and optimization. You will need to work closely with Development Operations, management, cross-functional teams, customers, and external suppliers.
To be successful in this role you will be a strong team-player with high accuracy, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills, possessing an entrepreneurial mindset comfortable in a flat organization. In addition, the successful candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, mentor others, and provide technical thought leadership and strategic recommendations to management.
How you'll make an impact:
-
Network Architecture & Infrastructure Management: Design, configure, install, and maintain internal servers, cloud infrastructure, and core network devices (including firewalls, Cisco/Dell Layer 2/3 switches, Wi-Fi APs, VPNs, and multi-WAN/VLAN environments) to ensure full redundancy and disaster recovery.
-
AI Integration & Automation: Implement AI-powered observability, predictive analytics, and automated tools to track compliance, build network optimization dashboards, monitor utilization trends, and eliminate repetitive tasks through intelligent scripting.
-
Security, Governance & Compliance: Incorporate robust security controls, AI-driven anomaly detection, and threat analysis into overall system implementations while establishing standard processes and network environment governance.
-
Troubleshooting & Technical Support: Troubleshoot complex network infrastructure issues across WAN, LAN, VOIP, DMZ, and cloud environments, cooperating closely with Development Operations and providing reliable on-call IT support.
-
Technical Leadership & Strategic Advisory: Act as a subject matter expert to mentor and guide team members, evaluate design risks, set project implementation frameworks, and provide strategic technical direction or roadmap recommendations to management.
What you'll bring to the role:
-
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in Network Engineering or within the IT field, ideally working within a technical/engineering organization or high-technology industry.
-
Network Infrastructure Expertise: Hands-on experience with enterprise network configuration, routing/switching (Cisco/Dell), Firewalls, Wi-Fi management, Radius infrastructure, and deploying QoS in LAN/WLAN environments.
-
Cloud & Core Network Services: Practical experience setting up, troubleshooting, and automating cloud-based networks (Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure), including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and managing DNS, DNSSEC, and SNMP.
-
Automation & Scripting: Strong scripting skills (Linux bash, PowerShell) using DevOps tools for intelligent automation, network diagnostics, and analytics.
-
AI & AIOps Competence: Advanced familiarity with AI/ML platforms (Vertex AI, BigQuery ML), AIOps tools for incident detection/root cause analysis, generative AI tools (Claude, Copilot) for scripting/documentation, and AI-based security monitoring.
-
Soft Skills & Professional Attributes: High accuracy, meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, and an entrepreneurial mindset comfortable collaborating across all levels of a flat organization.
-
Analytical & Team Mindset: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with a team-player attitude to make well-judged decisions and efficiently manage resource optimization.
