Job Overview

The Clinical Placement Specialist is responsible for securing and coordinating clinical and practicum placements across undergraduate and graduate nursing programs that support students’ academic and professional success and aligns with the course programs and outcomes. The specialist will build and maintain relationships with students, clinical sites, preceptors, and faculty to ensure timely, high-quality experiential learning opportunities that meet program requirements.

Through proactive outreach, partnership development, and exceptional customer service, the Placement Specialist supports student and preceptor retention, program success, and high-quality clinical education experiences while ensuring compliance with academic, accreditation, and regulatory standards.

Work Interactions

This position reports to the Clinical Placement Manager and works closely with students, faculty, preceptors, and clinical site administrators to secure and coordinate clinical and practicum placements. In this role, the placement specialist will collaborate with Clinical Faculty Directors to ensure placements align with curriculum requirements and student progression needs. Internally, the Placement Specialist partners with Student and Academic Affairs, Compliance, and operational teams to support student readiness, regulatory adherence, data tracking, and placement processes. Externally, the role builds and maintains relationships with healthcare organizations, clinical sites and community partners to expand placement opportunities and support high-quality experiential learning experiences.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 3–5 years of relevant experience in healthcare education, student services, customer service, administrative support, or operations.

  • Experience in customer service, administrative, operations, or student support roles; experience with clinical placements, compliance processes, or healthcare education programs preferred but not required.

  • Familiarity with CRM, learning management, and collaboration systems, including InPlace, myClinicalExchange (myCE), Exxat, DISA, Salesforce, Canvas, Google Drive, Box, and similar platforms is desired.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in fast-paced environments

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within team-oriented, service-driven environments.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience engaging diverse stakeholders, including students, faculty, and external partners.

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with a customer-service mindset.

  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality service and support.

Work Mode Designation

This position has been designated as Remote, with occasional travel to in-person university-related events (e.g., graduation, conferences, etc.). Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$54,616.00 - $100,493.33

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
