ABOUT THE ROLE

This is the founding product design role. You are pioneering how Generalist models are brought to the world. You will own the end to end user experience. Today users must interact with our robots, interact with our custom data collection hardware, interact with custom hardware appliances, and interact with our UI tools. You will own these and future interactions.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Designing the end to end user experience of the Generalist platform
• Implementing working prototypes of your designs with the latest AI tools
• Directly interfacing with customers to understand needs and observe behaviors
• Owning the information architecture of all of our user facing surfaces
• Designing the UX for web UIs and ensuring adherence to our visual aesthetic
• Designing the UX for various custom hardware components required to use the platform
• Working directly with engineering to implement new experiences and refactor existing ones

You might thrive in this role if you:

• Have extensive experience designing technically complex products zero to one
• Have familiarity with frontier AI. Robotics or hardware experience is a plus but not required
• Can rapidly bring your ideas to life with the latest AI models
• Work extremely collaboratively with fast-moving engineering teams
• Hold an exceptionally high craft bar and have extreme independent agency
• Can be 5-days in-office in San Mateo or Boston
