Unarmed Security Officer (Silver Spring , MD)
General Protective Services Enterprise, LLC is seeking experienced and professional Unarmed Security Officers for the Apartment Communities in Silver Springs, Maryland. Officers will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, guests, and property management staff in accordance with client expectations and Maryland state regulations.
Do Not Apply Without an Active Maryland Guard Card or VALID Driver's license
Applicants must already possess an Active Maryland State Police Security Guard Certification (Guard Card) in accordance with COMAR 29.04.01.
If you do not currently hold this certification, your application will not be considered.
Responsibilities
- Monitor all property entrances, parking lots, and common areas
- Conduct regular vehicle and foot patrols throughout the residential community
- Observe and report any suspicious activity, trespassing, or property damage
- Respond promptly to disturbances, alarms, and emergencies
- Maintain accurate daily activity and incident reports
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, property management, and law enforcement when necessary
- Follow all company and site-specific safety protocols and standard operating procedures
Requirements
- Active Maryland State Police Security Guard Certification – REQUIRED
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record – REQUIRED
- Prior experience in residential or property security preferred
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Professional appearance, reliable attendance, and clear communication skills required
- Must pass a background check and drug screening
Starting pay: $15.50–$16.00 per hour, based on experience and in accordance with local living wage requirements
