The Opportunity

The Ophthalmology Operations Manager, will lead business operations for our top-performing Ophthalmology portfolio, which features two market-leading treatments: our premier eye-injection therapy and an innovative drug-delivery device. As a key operational leader, you will design internal communication strategies, direct large-scale network events, and orchestrate our corporate presence at more than 60 national medical conventions and conferences each year. Working closely with the marketing team and Operations Director, you will deliver strategic project management to streamline processes and enable team success.

  • Execute a multi-channel internal communication strategy and tactical plan, partnering with the agency of record (AOR) to deliver streamlined updates across multiple brand and functional stakeholders.

  • Provide strategic oversight for network engagement events and meetings (live, virtual, and hybrid), defining objectives, shaping agendas, and managing end-to-end content creation and execution.

  • Serve as the primary project manager for presence at over 60 national congresses annually, co-leading major annual therapeutic events in partnership with domestic, global, medical, and commercial stakeholders.

  • Manage congress logistics, including booth presence, ancillary meetings, vendor tracking, housing needs, and the comprehensive congress master tracker.

  • Orchestrate and facilitate pre-conference preparatory sessions and post-event debriefs to align cross-functional field and home office teams on customer engagement expectations.

  • Own the global funding and compliance submission process, acting as the primary point of contact for compliance review teams, triaging requests for information, and managing the sponsorship budget tracker.

  • Deliver agile project management services across portfolio-level cross-functional initiatives, championing the "Future of Meetings" philosophy to continuously improve organizational efficiency.

Who you are

  • You possess a bachelors degree and 5+ years of professional project management or business operations experience.

  • You have a proven track record of managing multiple complex projects simultaneously while navigating shifting priorities and ambiguity.

  • You demonstrate strong experience leading and influencing cross-functional teams and managing diverse internal stakeholders without direct authority.

  • You exhibit exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on collaborative problem-solving and establishing cross-silo networks.

  • You possess the ability to travel domestically by air or car for business meetings and congresses.

Preferred

  • Prior operational experience within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare-related industry.

  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical compliance standards and grant, funding, or sponsorship submission systems.

  • Fluency in agile methodologies and structured project management frameworks.

This role is based in South San Francisco and offers a hybrid schedule working 3 day per week on campus

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of CA is $111,800 - $207,600. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
