ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Lead Software Engineer to unify several separate products behind a single Partner Portal and one API. This is a senior IC role built on engineering judgment. You’ll map the existing systems, design and enforce the API contracts that hold them together, and drive delivery while coordinating two teams you don’t manage. You’ll use AI coding agents as your main way of shipping and keep the bar high through review and testing. Success comes from systems thinking, high ownership in an ambiguous space, and clear communication, not from front-end depth.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

• Map the existing systems and work out how they fit behind a single portal.
• Design and enforce the API contracts that let those systems talk through one interface.
• Drive delivery of the partner portal: catalog, partner login, documentation, and license-key access.
• Work directly with the product architects who own each product so their docs and artifacts land in the right place. When you notice a product is missing, go find it.
• Coordinate across the Prague platform team and the US UI team without managing either, including with an L10 team lead on the US side.
• Use AI coding agents as your main way of shipping, and keep quality high through review and testing.
• Keep the director’s mental model current. Surface risks early, set expectations clearly, and own outcomes in an ambiguous, fast-moving space. Your primary stakeholders are the sales and sales-engineering teams selling these B2B offerings.

HOW YOU'LL WORK:

This role runs on US overlap. Our director and part of the team are in the US, so you’ll keep “night owl” hours: a later start, roughly noon to 5 in the Prague office, then a few more hours after dinner to overlap with the US day. On-site 3 days a week in Prague. Occasional overlap with India counterparts is a plus.

ABOUT YOU:

• 10 to 15+ years building production software. This is a grade 11, senior IC role.
• Expert-level TypeScript.
• Strong, hands-on AI-assisted development. You know where it speeds you up and where human judgment still has to win.
• Deep understanding of APIs and API specs, and a habit of enforcing contracts between services.
• Real systems-thinking ability. You’ve taken several separate systems and made them work, and look, like one thing.
• High ownership and genuine comfort with ambiguity. You drive the work; you don’t wait for a ticket.
• Strong communication and program-management instincts. You set expectations and keep stakeholders aligned.
• Some front-end ability (TypeScript, a little React or Next.js) is useful, but front-end depth is not the point of this role.

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience consolidating legacy systems behind a new surface (strangler-style migrations).
• Comfort collaborating across time zones with US and India counterparts.
• Familiarity with Python. A Python API layer exists today, though its future is open.
