React Native Developer — Collaborative Trip Planning App

We're building Tryps, a collaborative trip planning app where groups plan trips together, split expenses, vote on activities, and settle up.

We're looking for a React Native developer to join our existing dev team.

You'll work under our dev lead alongside other developers, picking up tasks from our project board and shipping production code daily.

Our Stack:

• Expo SDK 54 + TypeScript
• Supabase (PostgreSQL) — RLS, Edge Functions, Realtime
• Expo Router for navigation
• EAS for builds and OTA updates

What You'll Build:

• Trip planning flows (create, invite, manage)
• Realtime collaborative features (group voting, live updates)
• Expense tracking and splitting
• Activity and itinerary management
• Push notifications and deep linking

Requirements

• 35 years of professional development experience
• Production React Native experience (shipped apps, not just tutorials)
• Strong TypeScript skills (strict typing, no `any`)
• PostgreSQL and Supabase experience (queries, RLS, realtime)
• Experience with Expo managed workflow
• Available 10 AM 6 PM Eastern Time, Monday
• Friday
• Available for a 15minute technical interview with our dev lead

Nice to Have

• Realtime collaborative app experience
• Supabase Edge Functions
• Mobile animations (Reanimated, Moti)
• Small startup team experience

We start with a 1-week paid trial on real tasks. If it goes well, this becomes ongoing.

Contract duration of more than 6 months. with 40 hours per week.
